Does losing weight lower CdA? Not directly — CdA is about frontal area and shape, not mass. But a leaner rider often presents less frontal area, so there's an indirect effect. On climbs, the weight loss itself is what helps.
Is a lower CdA always better? Only if you can sustain the position and still produce power. An extreme TT tuck you can't hold, or that restricts your breathing, isn't faster. Optimise for the lowest CdA you can maintain at target power.
