Step 1: Component Inspection and Pre-Assembly Preparation
Establishing a reliable path for tangential pedal force transmission requires checking each mechanical junction for structural fit. Check the crank arm threads for debris. Remove grit using a stiff wire brush. Inspect the spline engagement of the spindle. Any play/slop detection at this stage indicates worn surfaces that must be replaced.
Lubricate the interfaces to prevent seizing. We apply thread lock to the chainring fasteners to prevent loosening under load. Align the chainring correctly relative to the crank pin. Misalignment causes uneven chain tension, creating unwanted friction losses that skew telemetry measurements.

Step 3: Fastener Torque Standards and Tooling
Securing the components to precise specifications ensures the strain gauge centering remains stable.
