Real-Time Estimation of Strain Gauge Wheatstone Bridges in Mountain Conditions

1. Climbing through the Cold Rain of the Alps

Descending through the winding, wet switchbacks of Stelvio Pass puts extreme physical demands on both rider and instrument. The biting alpine wind carries freezing rain, causing rapid thermal variation across the carbon crankset assembly. Under these severe conditions, real-time estimation of athletic output relies heavily on the stability of the strain gauge wheatstone bridge. As temperature drops from 14°C at the valley floor to -2°C at the summit, the physical substrate undergoes contraction.
